The Enchanting Nisse House – The Place Where the Elves Live
The four Sundays in Advent, the forest by Etly Klarborg's workshop and store have for years been bustling. The reason is that the elves who live here are busy entertaining their guests, teasing and playing with all the children who stop by. The Nisse House has become a tradition many locals associate with Christmas, attracting visitors from all over the country.
The Nisse House in the forest is the epitome of Christmas and coziness! And since 2004, it has been open to visitors all 4 Sundays in Advent. Many people come every year to get their annual dose of Christmas magic in the enchanting house, where Etly Klarborg's Elfs frolic in the forest, and peace and quiet settle in inside.
The walk to the Nisse House starts at Store Gammelbo, through the dim forest of cozy paths. From start to finish, there are signs, so you shouldn’t get lost. Unless a mischievous elf has turned one of them. When you approach the Nisse House, you might hear elves giggling or laughing from inside the forest – And if you’re lucky, you’ll catch sight of one of them! Santa himself welcomes you at the Nisse House, and he loves talking with the little ones, and if you’ve been good, he has treats in his pocket that you get to taste. He is also happy to pose for a picture if you wish.
Inside the Nisse House itself, you cannot buy the popular Elfs, but you can buy æbleskiver, mulled wine, and soda. And you’re welcome to stay seated and just enjoy the old-fashioned, cozy Christmas atmosphere. At the Nisse House, both big and small can recharge, warm up, and enjoy the enchanting surroundings. You cannot help but get into the Christmas spirit if you have visited the Nisse House – That we guarantee!
